Term: Lateral hypothalamic area
Definition: According to Gurdjian 1927, and Krieg 1932. Several attempts have been made to parcellate this area, but there is little agreement among authors, and the parcellations based on histochemistry combined with pathway tracing methods are needed. A perifornical region can often be distinguished from a more lateral region.
