Term: spiny neurogliaform neuron
Definition: The second type of neuron originating a dense axonal plexus is the spiny neurogliaform neuron. SNG shares somatic and dendritic characteristics with common spiny neurons (see above) but bears clear-cut somatic and axonal differences (Fig. 10A,B).
