prelunate gyrus, is a major source of visual inputs to area 7a (Andersen et al., 1990). DP has been distinguished from adjoining areas (V4, V3A, and 7a) primarily on the basis of differential connections, but also on the basis of visual topography and receptive field size and responsiveness (Maguire and Baizer, 1984; May and Andersen, 1986; Andersen et al., 1990).
