abbreviation: BSTdm
Abbreviation

Species

Description of part
This is a loosely arranged, relatively ill-defined nucleus that partly envelopes the lateral aspect of the parastrial nucleus. Anteriorly, it is distinguished from the undifferentiated part of the anteroventral area by the presence of scattered, medium sized multipolar cells and by the overall dorsomedial to ventrolateral orientation of the cells (Figs. 17, 24, 25). The dorsomedial nucleus is bordered caudally (and laterally) by the dorsolateral nucleus (Figs. 24, 26).
