LIP (lateral intraparietal) lies in the lateral bank of the intraparietal sulcus, in between VIP and area 7a (Andersen et al., 1985). Collator note: See Table 1, pages 6-7. LIP is defined in Andersen, Asanuma & Cowan, 1985, Andersen, Asanuma, Essick & Siegel, 1990 and Blatt, Andersen & Stoner, 1990 with significant uncertainties in both identification and border assignments (qualitative assessment of authors).
