Description of part

Small, desnely packed cells occupy the entire extent of the LADL...The distinction beween the dorsolateral and ventromedial La are also verifiablw in ACHE reacted and Timm's impregnated sections (Figs 3D, E). The LADL gives a moderate AChE staining reaction (Atlas [Paxinos, 1982] Plate 20), but a weak Timm's reaction which contrasts with the very weak ACHE staining reaction (Atlas [Paxinos, 1982] Plate 22) and the very immense Timm's impregnation in the neuropil of the LAVM. ...the dorsolateral La and ventromedial La are equivalent to, respectively, the dorsal and ventral portion of the amygdala propia lateralis of Uchida (1950), the small celled dorsolateral and large celled ventromedial parts of the lateral nucleus of Yu (1969), and to the lateral and medial divisions of this nucleus by Turner and Zimmer (1984; see also Price, 1981).
