The abbreviation of Nucleus anterior thalami was adopted by the collator and was adapted from the Human brain nomeclature Mai 1997 (the Latin version of the anterior thalamic nucleus). Collator note: this structure appears as directly under the thalamencephalon in the hierarchical list pages 80-94, even though the description of the thalamencephalon refers only to three distinct subdivisions: thalamus, epithalamus and metathalamus.
