Description of part
Our delineation of the hypothalamus is based on the description of Simerly (1995). The general cytoarchitecture of the mouse hypothalamus has been described by Broadwell and Bleier (1977). The distribution of aromataseimmunoreactive cells in the hypothalamus and other areas has been mapped by Foidart et al. (1995). See Ruggiero et al. (1984) and Baker et al. (1993) for a description of catecho-laminergic cells in the hypothalamus of the mouse.
