Description of part

A magnocellular nucleus with AChE-positive cells is found ventromedial to the internal capsule at the anteroposterior level of the perifornical and subincertal nuclei (Figs. 43-48). This nucleus has been termed the lateral tuberal nucleus by Bleier et al . (1979), but this term is problematic given that it refers to another structure in primate literature. We have followed Paxinos and Watson (1986) and used the name magnocellular lateral hypothalamic nucleus.
