Description of part

According to Krettek and Price 1978. The basolateral complex of the amygdala is included here because it develops just superficial to the extrenal capsule, which has been misidentified in the region of the amygdala (see atlas levels 24-31). What we have called the amygdalar capsule is a fiber tract along the lateral border of this complex, and we suggest it is part of a fiber syste within, and lateral to (for example, the extreme capsule) the subplate or deep cortex.
